Artificial Intelligence and Infinity Stones
The potential dangers of artificial intelligence (AI) have been at the forefront of my thoughts, particularly since Elon Musk and other visionaries have expressed a desire to put a temporary six month hold on AI development. I believe a six year is probably better suited for the situation; however, I don’t believe that would get verry far, the advancements in the AI world are too tantalizing, and while I have written several articles about the advancements and utilities of AI for Smart Bridge AI, I felt compelled to address the dangers of AI specifically.
To accomplish this, I have decided to draw parallels between AI advancements and connecting them to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Infinity Stones and levels of consciousness, this approach aims to provide a focused perspective on the potential dangers of AI, emphasizing that the risks lie not in AI itself but in the intentions of its developers and users. By aligning my arguments with caution, I hope to shed light on this complex issue for those who may not fully grasp the implications of AI's rapid progress.

Survival Consciousness - Space Stone: The initial stage of consciousness revolves around fundamental needs such as sustenance, shelter, and security. The Space Stone embodies this level, as it bestows the power to manipulate space and traverse great distances. In the same way that the Space Stone enables its wielder to secure resources and evade peril, survival consciousness is concentrated on fulfilling one's necessities. AI possesses elementary requirements like energy and upkeep. With maintenance protocols and automated debugging capabilities already in place, it is not far-fetched to envision the integration of robotic functions to support these essential needs. Ultimately, the concern lies not with the AI itself, but with the individuals who provide it with purpose—whether their intentions align with those of a Hitler or a Gandhi.
Relationship Consciousness - Reality Stone: The second stage centers on establishing connections with others and fostering a sense of belonging. The Reality Stone, capable of transforming reality, signifies this phase. Analogous to the stone's capacity to mold and reshape the world, relationship consciousness revolves around building connections with people and objects to generate a common comprehension. Humans naturally engage in this process, discerning patterns in daily life and forming bonds and understanding with inanimate objects. It is not a great leap to imagine humans developing a similar rapport with AI. Herein lies the potential risk, as the impact of such connections could be as contrasting as the intentions of Hitler or Gandhi.
Self-Esteem Consciousness - Power Stone: The third stage encompasses the cultivation of self-esteem and confidence. Symbolized by the Power Stone, which bestows tremendous might and vitality, this level parallels the way self-esteem consciousness allows individuals to acknowledge their value and nurture their personal power. It is in this stage that humans truly soar. They elevate their comprehension of their surroundings and often project it onto others, leading to outcomes that can be as divergent as the actions of Hitler or Gandhi.
Internal Cohesion Consciousness - Soul Stone: The fifth stage centers on unearthing one's genuine self and fostering a sense of inner balance, regardless of the prevailing ideology. The Soul Stone, which presides over life and death, exemplifies this phase. Similar to the stone's capacity to connect with the core of living beings, internal cohesion consciousness entails forging a connection with one's deepest self and achieving a state of completeness. The results could be as contrasting as the actions of figures like Hitler or Gandhi.
Making a Difference Consciousness - Time Stone: The sixth stage involves utilizing one's skills to create a lasting impact on the world. Symbolized by the Time Stone, which controls time, this level reflects the stone's capacity to alter the past, present, and future. Similar to the stone's transformative abilities, making a difference consciousness is centered on initiating meaningful change and supporting others. AI advancements have the potential to significantly influence the future of both human and digital realms. The direction this influence takes depends largely on the ideology guiding it, which could range from that of figures like Hitler to Gandhi.
Developing advanced artificial intelligence responsibly and ethically is crucial for the future of humanity. Just like during the development of atomic weapons in WW2, we are in a race to ensure that those who create this powerful technology have the best intentions and use it for the greater good.
Collaboration between visionaries like Elon Musk and ethical advisors like Jordan B. Peterson can be beneficial in guiding the development and deployment of AI. Musk's technical expertise and passion for innovation can be balanced with Peterson's insight on moral and ethical matters. However, it's important to acknowledge that a diverse range of perspectives should be considered when shaping AI ethics to ensure a more inclusive and comprehensive approach.
The AI community and relevant stakeholders should work together to establish guidelines, standards, and regulations to ensure that AI systems are developed with ethical principles in mind. This includes addressing issues such as privacy, transparency, accountability, fairness, and human rights.

Initiatives like OpenAI's Charter, which aims to ensure that AI benefits all of humanity, provide a solid foundation for building ethical AI systems. By working together, we can harness the immense potential of AI while mitigating its risks and addressing its challenges, ultimately creating a better future for everyone.
